#2's in 2nd place #3's in 11th place

Despite the disappointed of the Tier 4 Cup exit, Crawley 2’s have had an excellent first half of the season;
8 wins, 1 draw and only 2 defeats see them sit in second place in the Sussex Open League Division Two, 6 points clear of the third placed team.
After a heavy, opening day defeat to top of the table Brighton some great results have followed. Crushing wins over Worthing 5’s, Hailsham 2’s and Eastbourne 4’s (11-0, 7-0 and 7-1), have been complimented by some fantastic wins in close games, 3-0 away at East Grinstead 3’s and 4-1 at home to St Francis 1’s in particular.
The second half of the season for the 2’s should be focused on consolidating second place and trying to achieve a promotion that looked unlikely when the season began.
The 2’s top scorers are Scott Gibbons (20 in all competitions), Karl Bass (14 in all competitions) and James Fuller (8 goals). There have also been 4 clean sheets for goalkeeper Lewis Cordingley.

Crawley 3’s has had a tough first half of the season.
1 win, 2 draws and 8 defeats sees them sit second bottom in the Sussex Open League Division Two, 4 points adrift of safety.
Two excellent 0-0 draws (credit to Keeper Gary Thornton in these games) against St Francis 1’s and Hailsham 2’s and a 9-1 thumping of Eastbourne 4’s being the highlights so far.

The 3’s are a promising young team, with many players seeing action at this level for the first time this year.
Performances have been determined and with more experience some narrow defeats could have become draws and wins. In the second half of the season the 3’s will hope to turn some of these closer games into points, while progressing their players and growing in confidence.

The great escape is not impossible, especially if they can beat the teams around them.

The 3’s top scorers are Liam Mulcahy and Reuben Crawford (both 3 goals), with Oli Hendon just behind on 2 goals. There have also been 2 clean sheets for goalkeeper Gary Thornton.
