Kent Sussex 1
Crawley Mens 1's 1 vs 4 Tunbridge Wells
Crawley faced another difficult game against a Tunbridge wells side which scored some excellent goals the last time they met.
It was another difficult game for Crawley with more and more regular faces on the side lines it has become a more thread bare squad than at any time over the last couple of years.
The visitors started well and were looking to play very quickly from back to front in a counter attacking manor. The game was very tight with chances for both sides being squandered. But it was the visitors who broke through late in the first half and managed to hold that lead into the half time break. Crawley had played well but had been unable to find that last pass or little break which would have opened the door for them to get themselves on the score sheet.
The second half started and Tunbridge wells came out firing and managed to score two quick goals in the first 5 minutes to almost put the game put of reach of the home side. However this did not stop Crawley from getting back into the game soon after as a combination of the keeper and a defenders foot kept out Rob Gate and then Seb Watson but the umpire had blown for a penalty stroke which Kieran Fuller stepped up and scored to make it 3-1. This glimmer of hope was however dashed as once again Tunbridge Wells piled forward and managed to get themselves a fourth goal to put the game out of reach.
Captain Alex Watson said"It was a difficult game today we knew they were a good team and they took there chances today we had some of our own but just couldnt find that final pass or finish to make them count. We came out too slow in the second half and they came after us and it was a long way back after that. We know we need to start picking up point and we need to keep on improving this league seems to be a case of everyone can beat anyone there are no easy points we just need to focus on grinding out results to make sure we get safe in the league then we can set new goals its very tight and 1 win can move you up 2 or 3 places".
