Ladies 1's vs Eastbourne 2's

Crawley had a strong start to the match with some promising attacking plays and a lot of the possession. Sue Allen won a free hit which she distributed out wide to Chloe, to Michelle who crossed the ball into Sue Allen who scored from an acute angle. A great drive down the right from Alice won a free hit on the edge of the circle from which Michelle drove into the D to score Crawley’s second goal of the match in the bottom left of the goal. Crawley were leading 2-0 at half time.
Eastbourne came out fighting in the second half winning a short corner which was saved by the Crawley keeper, Jess. A counter attack down the right between Michelle and Chloe crossed into Sue Allen and struck by Mellissa from the left gave Crawley their third goal.
Eastbourne continued their attack winning a number of short corners. After a brilliant save off the line by Jane Lomas, the Eastbourne No.11 managed to convert the next short corner scoring with 12 minutes to go. Another attack from Eastbourne down their right got them a second goal. Crawley managed to withstand continued pressure in the last 5 minutes of the game to hold on to the 3-2 victory.
