CHC Ladies defeat league leaders

Crawley deserved the win after beating the only unbeaten side and league pace setters Brighton.
Goals from Corinna Luxford and Fiona Bettesworth gave Crawley a 2 - 0 lead early in the first half, Brighton's gradually applied pressure but by resolute defending.
Crawley held on, however the sharpness of the Brighton centre forward scored an opportune and well deserved goal, this inspired Crawley to respond and a wonderful piece of attacking hockey saw Mel issa Hopkins sweep the ball home for a 3 - 1 lead at half time.
Despite Brighton opening the second half brightly Crawley thought a 4th goal had been scored by Corinna luxford, unfortunetly the umpire didn't see the ball cross the line and played on.
Brighton then went on to score their 2nd of the match.
Not to be downhearted the Crawley team regrouped and held on for the win, seeing Brighton suffer their first defeat on the season.
