Crawley fail to take chances and lose to Brighton

Crawley went into this game on the back of a good result against local rivals East Grinstead. They knew that they had to play as well if not better to get anything from this game.

Crawley started the stronger side and were pressing the Brighton final third with regularity but were unable to convert the chances which would see them take the lead. This propelled Brighton to start some good passing moves and force some top saves from Chris White. The first Brighton goal came from a great individual bit of skill and a fine finish into the bottom left corner of the goal. Brighton built upon this and converted another two goals before the break.

Crawley spoke at half time about playing the ball wide and looking to be clinical in front of goal and they knew they would have to press forward to get anything out of the game. Crawley did this and were creating chances and but again were unable to convert these. Brighton then got two good breakaway goals to make the score 5-0. Crawley then managed to win a short corner where a good initial shot from James Fuller saw the rebound tucked into the net by Dan Burnham. Brighton managed to get 1 more before the end of play to see Crawley lose 6-1.

Captain Chris Rockingham commented "We always knew it would be a tough game as Brighton are always very well organised and clinical in front of goal. It is part of our game that we need to work on and once this improves we will climb the table."
