Tamoor Abdullah: A Friend, Teammate, and Inspiration to Us All

We are shocked and saddened to hear that Tamoor Abdullah has passed away.

Tamoor joined Crawley Hockey Club as a Junior. He came through our junior section before going on to play for a number of our men’s teams. Tamoor was also a member of the World Record-Breaking Teams that broke the record for the longest Field Hockey Game, playing for 36 hours. He was well known throughout the club, and was always a smiling, happy and likeable member of our club.

Tamoor left Crawley to further his development at East Grinstead HC, where I often saw him playing or coaching. He would always take the time to have a chat and catch up on how the teams were getting on. He was held in incredible high regard for the work he took on both on and off the pitch.

The shock of hearing this incredibly sad news over the past few days has hit the members of Crawley HC hard and just shows the high regard that he was held in across the hockey community.

As a club, we would like to express our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, and teammates.

“T”, you will forever be in our thoughts.

Jamie Westwood
Crawley HC President
