Good pre season 4-2 win

Crawley Mens 2’s arrived for their friendly at Horsham in bright sunshine ready for a tough pre-season game.
From the start Crawley struggled to impose themselves on the game with Horsham taking control making surging runs down the flanks and middle but were unable to capitalise on their pressure. A quick tactical change with Karl Bass dropping back into the midfield from the forward line helped shore things up.
Crawley then started to ratchet up the pressure and had a series of short corners from which they eventually stuck one in the net, with Jonny Brownlee shot being poached by Alex Coote a few inches from the line. Crawley kept up the press on the Horsham midfield and defence and scored another via Jonny, this time with no around to nick it.
After the usual jelly babies and quick chat at half time, Crawley went straight at Horsham again, and the high press paid regular dividends as Horsham struggled to get outside there half at times. James Fuller converted from the double castle short corner routine which bamboozled both the opposition and the attack but somehow worked.
Horsham then got back into the game with a well taken goal, and Simon Teale had to be hand for some excellent interceptions to break up Horsham play. Luke Miles also shook off the hangover briefly for some incredible off line the saves and carry the ball away from danger.
Crawley upped the ante again after realising the game was not yet put to bed and the pressure forced Horshams defence to misplace a pass which James Fuller pounced on and buried into the corner of the goal. With two mins left, Horsham scored a further consolation goal but the game was already won.
Crawley now look to their cup match next week against Lewis 2’s heartened by a positive performance and great work ethic. But they will be without their commander in chief Kane Paterson, who is getting married!
